Frequently asked questions
What does the comparison include?
Both scenarios run through the full calx.io pay engine: income tax, the Medicare levy, HECS/HELP repayments and employer super. You see take-home pay per pay cycle and per year, the dollar difference, and the total package including super.
One offer is quoted including super. How do I compare fairly?
Turn on the salary-includes-super toggle for that scenario. The calculator subtracts the super guarantee from the package so both jobs are compared on the same basis.
Can I model a second job?
Yes. Switch off the tax-free threshold toggle on the second-job scenario. That job is then taxed from the first dollar, which is how PAYG withholding treats a job where you already claim the threshold elsewhere.
